A weekend trip or a much-needed getaway! Anything you want, India will never run out of places to go and explore beyond the obvious concrete jungles. Nature and wildlife go hand in hand and India is known for its diversity when it comes to the beauty of nature as well as the exotic locations that you can head to. If British had Shakespeare, who was in love with the places and meadows, then India’s aesthetic nature was brought in light by Kalidasa. A wildlife safari is as good as it sounds.

So, which are the places that you can actually visit and get the best of? The list is endless, but the top in the list are the ones you should definitely visit. The wildlife sanctuaries that have been made with the purpose to save and help the animals (who are endangered) thrive; and the natural parks are:

  • Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary: This sanctuary is the best if you want to observe and gaze at the beauty of tigers in their natural habitat and not see them as prisoners in a cage. Located in southeastern Rajasthan, you will definitely love this place. You can find tigers, boars, peacocks, deer and monkeys amongst others.
  • Corbett National Park: Located in the foothills of Himalaya and in the hill state of India – Uttarakhand, this national park is among the oldest in India. The mention of the place will make you pack and your bags and head to this destination. You will definitely enjoy the wilderness and see the animals in their natural habitat. You can find Tigers, Sambar Deer, Leopards, Peacocks, Golden Jackal and many birds and reptiles too. You can also stay in lodge and experience the nature.
  • Dudhwa National Park: Located in the lush terrains of Uttar Pradesh and some borrowed land from Nepal, this national park is an amazing reflection of the ecosystem of India and you will definitely love it. A paradise for birdwatchers, one can find many exotic migratory birds and rare species like Bengal florican here. You can also find tigers, leopards, rhinoceros, the rare Hispid Hare and many different species of deer and jungle cats here. One could choose either the Jeep Safari or rent accommodation in the park to enjoy the nature.
  • Gobind Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary: Situated on the banks of one of the biggest man-made reservoirs, Gobind Sagar, this wildlife sanctuary is home to wild boars, deer, Sambar and many others. Gobind Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary is a must visit if you are in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Kaziranga National Park: This one has already made into the list of the world heritage site and the reasons for it are in plenty. Located in the exotic state of Assam, the place is not only beautiful but also the habitat for the 2nd and 3rd population of one horned rhinos in the world. So, if you want to see the mighty creatures, then this is the place for you.

Apart from the wildlife sanctuaries and national parks mentioned above, you can go on treks in the Himalayas and experience the nature. The rivers and the jungles have their own stories to tell here.
